Privacy Policy
Last updated 6 October 2026
This policy explains what the HoopArc iPhone app and the services at tryhooparc.com do with your information. HoopArc works without an account; an account is optional and only used to back up your training history.
On your iPhone (always)
- Camera. HoopArc analyses the camera feed on your iPhone while you train. The video is not recorded by HoopArc and no frames, photos, video, body-pose or detection data are uploaded.
- Training history. Your sessions (mode, start and end time, and each attempt's result) are saved on your iPhone.
- Profile. The name and position you enter are saved on your iPhone.
If you sign in (optional)
You can sign in with Apple or with Google. We then store, on servers run for us by Cloudflare:
- Account: an internal account ID; the account identifier Apple or Google gives us for you; and the email address they share with us. With Apple this may be a private relay address, and Apple may share none. We do not store your Apple or Google display name or photo.
- Synced training sessions: for completed sessions recorded with HoopArc's shot detection: session ID, training mode, start and end time, numbers of makes, misses and unresolved attempts, whether the goal was reached, and for each attempt its result, a short reason code and its timestamps. Simulated, test and unfinished sessions are never uploaded.
- Profile: the display name and position you entered, and when you last changed them.
- Sign-in session: a session record so you stay signed in (it expires after 60 days without use). We do not store your IP address or device details with it.
- Sign in with Apple only: an encrypted Apple token used for one purpose: to revoke HoopArc's Sign in with Apple authorization when you delete your account.
We do not keep Google access or refresh tokens, and we do not access your Google or Apple account data beyond signing you in.
How we use it
Only to sign you in, keep your synced history and profile consistent across your devices, and restore them. HoopArc has no advertising, sells no data, and includes no analytics or tracking SDKs.
Service providers
- Cloudflare hosts our servers and database. Requests pass through Cloudflare's network. Your IP address is used to limit abuse (rate limiting); those counters are deleted after a day. Our operational logs record the request path, status and timing, without IP addresses, tokens or email addresses, and are kept by Cloudflare for a few days.
- Apple and Google provide sign-in under their own privacy policies.
Deleting your data
- Delete Account (You tab in the app) permanently deletes your HoopArc account, your synced sessions, your cloud profile and any stored Apple token, and signs out every device. If you used Sign in with Apple, HoopArc also asks Apple to revoke its authorization; if that is not possible the app tells you how to do it in Settings. If you used Google, you can remove HoopArc under Third-party connections in your Google Account.
- Training history on your iPhone stays there until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
- A session you delete in the app is marked deleted in the cloud so your other devices remove it too; the record itself is removed when you delete your account.
- Our database provider keeps point-in-time recovery copies for up to 30 days, so deleted data can remain in those copies until they expire.
- Signing out does not delete anything.
Children
HoopArc is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information through an account.
